Advertisement Posted April 15 Posted April 15 Hi helged, Take a look here Leica S lens on Fuji GFX 50s. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ZHNL Posted April 16 Share #162 Posted April 16 Don’t have GFX anymore but this adapter will bring a GFX100 II for me in the near future depend on how your feedbacks are.

Tirpitz666 Posted April 16 Share #164 Posted April 16 (edited) I have the S006 with four lenses and a GFX100S with only one (good) zoom lens, so VERY interested in this adapter of course 🙂 Edited April 16 by Tirpitz666

BernardC Posted April 16 Share #166 Posted April 16 Comparisons should be interesting. There isn't much difference between 50 MP and 37.5 MP (S2, S-006, S-007), or between 100 MP and 64MP (S3), so the main differentiators will be colour response and workflow.

Though the trend is towards EVF, I still prefer OVF.

IBIS and electronic shutter are two key differences (for me).
BernardC Posted April 16 Share #169 Posted April 16 That's why I think it will be interesting! Fujis have EVF, but the S-007 and S3 have live view, so you can also zoom-in to focus. Fujis have ES, but they don't have leaf shutters. It's always fascinating to see how different (talented) people use similar tools.

Sarnian Posted April 17 Share #171 Posted April 17 My adapter came today. Updated the firmware to version 1.1 so that I'm ready to give it a try tomorrow. Looked at tomorrow's weather and it's raining all day. Typical! 🙃

But I wouldn't put too much cash on the Kipon-adapter, in rain...

Keep an eye on it for updates/user experiences. 👍 Some early reports suggest a few teething issues. Pre-ordered adapters will need a firmware update (to V1.1).

Yes, V1.1 is needed. Still varying degrees of succes. Good to see that Kipon listen to early S-adapter users: https://m.facebook.com/groups/1038881108091739/
Sarnian Posted April 20 Share #175 Posted April 20 No one has posted any shots yet with the Kipon adapter so here's my meagre contribution. I only had 30 minutes spare so I popped down the road to fire off a few shots. The good news is that the focal length, etc. is maintained in the EXIF data. Images shot with my 30-90mm reflected the different focal lengths that I used. The images are SHARP so there doesn't appear to be any issues with front or back focus. So, the mechanical side of things seem great - it's the electronic side of things that needs a little work. This is fine, though, as these kinks can hopefully be ironed with future firmware updates. I found that when focus locked in the camera would immediately take the photo and I didn't have the chance to recompose. After about 10 minutes my camera (a GFX100S) randomly went into sensor cleaning mode!). I'm going to stick with the adapter in the hope that Kipon keep releasing further firmware updates. They've been responsive so far so that's a good sign. Welcome, dear visitor! They've been responsive so far so that's a good sign. I see that Kipon have updated their website with the below:- Please make sure to focus on a distant object to activate the lens first, and then take the shot. This is because the motors of S lenses are relatively old and the software cannot drive them to quickly focus on nearby objects. ● Compatible lenses - Leica Super-Elmar-S 24mm f/3.5 ASPH. - Leica Elmarit-S 30mm f/2.8 ASPH. - Leica Summarit-S 70mm f/2.5 ASPH. - Leica APO-Macro-Summarit-S 120mm f/2.5 - Leica Vario-Elmar-S 30–90mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH. - Leica APO-Elmar-S 180mm f/3.5 - Leica Summicron-S 100mm f/2 ASPH. (to be confirmed) * The current version of L/S-GFX AF does not support lenses with CS (Central Shutter), we will continuously upgrade the firmware to optimize and solve this issue and make it compatible with a wider range of lenses. We welcome you to provide feedback on the lens information and usage experience. ● Firmware upgrade process 1) Prepare a PC or MAC computer and a standard USB Type-C data cable. 2) Download the corresponding product's firmware upgrade file from the official website to the prepared computer. If it is a compressed file, decompress it after downloading. The file name is: LeicaS_GFX VXX.DAT. Note that XX represents the version number. For example, the firmware name LeicaS_GFX V10.DAT represents firmware version 1.0. 3) Connect the adapter (without attaching the camera and lens) to the computer. At this point, a "KIPON" removable disk will be recognized by the computer. Then copy the decompressed LeicaS_GFX VXX.DAT upgrade firmware to the recognized removable disk. The upgrade firmware will be automatically upgraded, which takes approximately 10 seconds. After the upgrade is completed, the computer will automatically clear the previously copied upgrade firmware and restart the "KIPON" removable disk, indicating a successful upgrade and completion. * Please note that do not copy any other files into the "KIPON" removable disk except for the firmware upgrade files provided by the KIPON official website. 2

Missing the 35mm lens; but it's coming, I presume (I see on the GB-forum that there are some issues with this lens). For me, aperture control and transfer of the focal length (for IBIS) is what I want.

Doc_P Posted April 21 Share #180 Posted April 21 (edited) Really important topic, thanks for the valuable input to all contributors. Since I want to use my " S crown jewels", the S 24 and especially the S Apo 120 Macro on a modern camera (IBIS, flexible focus point selection) I preordered the adapter early January '25. I got it last Saturday and tried this morning to update to firmware V1.1 - and failed on a Mac M1 Ultra (mac OS Sonoma 14.6.1) as well as on a M4 Max Laptop (mac OS Sequoia 15.1.1). No "Kipon" disk to be seen. Proven USB-C cables, including the Thunderbolt 5 cable from Apple. Disk Utility or SoftRAID couldn't find the adapter too.... Unfortunately I do not have access to a Windows machine anymore! Any ideas ? I will order a GFX II-variant only after successful update (in order to minimise financial risks), so I can't try the adapter on an GFX... Already contacted info@kipon.com Edited April 21 by Doc_P
