grober Posted July 2, 2007 Share #1 Posted July 2, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) FEDEX just delivered one 60mm Leica UV/IR filter which I requested in the first week of December. We live on the Left Coast of the USA. Now I can fully use my 21mm Elmarit lens, 6-bit coded by Leica Service in New Jersey in January! Thank you, Solms. -g
Advertisement Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 Hi grober, Take a look here Leica E60 UV/IR filter reaches the Far Country. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
carstenw Posted July 2, 2007 Share #2 Posted July 2, 2007 Hmm, I live in Berlin, and my 60mm filter is not here yet. Sigh. I bought my M8 the 6th of November.
Shootist Posted July 2, 2007 Share #3 Posted July 2, 2007 You know Leica is dealing out all the filters in a Willy Nilly sort of way. I totally believe that one hand of Leica has NO idea what the other hand is doing. There is just no rhime or reason to how/who gets what size filter when. However, my 21mm Elmarit lens uses 55mm thread, which I did receive one for that lens - why the diameter difference in ours? .
arthury Posted July 2, 2007 Share #9 Posted July 2, 2007 I live on the West Coast, too. No 55mm so far ...
AGeoJO Posted July 2, 2007 Share #10 Posted July 2, 2007 I received mine 2 weeks ago but I turned in the request in December of last year when it was first announced. However, I have seen/heard about random shipment sequences.....
yoMammabot Posted July 2, 2007 Share #11 Posted July 2, 2007 I received my 60 and 55 late last week. Best of luck!

However, my 21mm Elmarit lens uses 55mm thread, which I did receive one for that lens - why the diameter difference in ours? . My 21 Asph is 55mm, not sure if there were 2 filter sizes of pre asph's but most I've seen are 60mm
Shootist Posted July 2, 2007 Share #13 Posted July 2, 2007 I just went and picked up a 55 & 39. FedEx tried to deliver today but I wasn't home. Now all I'm missing is a 49.
grober Posted July 3, 2007 Author Share #14 Posted July 3, 2007 Well, that's great! However, my 21mm Elmarit lens uses 55mm thread, which I did receive one for that lens - why the diameter difference in ours? . Joshua, My Elmarit is the older, pre-ASPH variety. The current Leica 21 lens does take 55mm filters. Sorry I forgot to mention that detail. (The other Leica lens that mounts 60mm filters is the 75mm Summilux. Maybe one of the Notilux lenses too.) -g
DerrickC Posted July 3, 2007 Share #15 Posted July 3, 2007 I received my 55mm and 60mm filters a few days ago and i'm in Singapore. I did the filter request in Feb. I emailed Leica about 2 weeks ago (20 June) to ask them about when i was receiving the filters and they replied "Your filters are in stock from next week on and are sent away then." Maybe that expedited my order.

marknorton Posted July 3, 2007 Share #17 Posted July 3, 2007 I've finally received one 60mm filter and I am surprised how big it is, not the 60mm part (I had that figured out) but the size of the mount. It's much thicker than the 39 and 43mm filters I've had up to now. Not sure why...
khun_k Posted July 3, 2007 Share #18 Posted July 3, 2007 I've finally received one 60mm filter and I am surprised how big it is, not the 60mm part (I had that figured out) but the size of the mount. It's much thicker than the 39 and 43mm filters I've had up to now. Not sure why... I received 46mm late May and just received 55mm 3 weeks ago, in Bangkok, Thailand. For country that the import tax is still on the photographic equipment, the Leica invoice actually states "Please Do Not Pay" that was quite nice. Shootist Posted July 3, 2007 Share #19 Posted July 3, 2007 I received 46mm late May and just received 55mm 3 weeks ago, in Bangkok, Thailand. For country that the import tax is still on the photographic equipment, the Leica invoice actually states "Please Do Not Pay" that was quite nice. The invoices that came with each of the 2 filters I received yesterday, they came separately, said that also, Please Do Not Pay. I think that is just standard on all invoices that are sent out with all the free filters.
wlaidlaw Posted July 3, 2007 Share #20 Posted July 3, 2007 I do find it somewhat irritating that my local Leica dealer in Nice has a number of 60mm filters on the shelf and I am still waiting for mine from January. Wilson
