01af Posted September 25, 2017 Share #61 Posted September 25, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) A 75 mm 1:1.2 will almost certainly have a long focus throw anyway.I guess it's going to be like the 50 mm Noctilux. The old 50 mm 1:1 had a long focus throw; the new 50 mm 1:0.95 has a shorter focus throw which is just short of being too short. That's why I assume the upcoming 75 mm 1:1.25 will have a focus throw which will be longer than the 75 mm Apo-Summicron's or Summarit's but shorter (unfortunately) than the old 75 mm Summilux's.
Advertisement Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Hi 01af, Take a look here Any enthusiasm for the upcoming 1.25/75mm Noctilux?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!

Paul J Posted September 26, 2017 Share #63 Posted September 26, 2017 Very interested in the 75mm Noctilux but it has to prove itself first. I don't think Leica are going to disappoint though. Comparing performance and character with the 75mm Summilux will likely be similar(ish) to comparing Noctilux 1.0 with 0.95. I'm not sure I will ever sell the Summilux though, it's one special lens. I was hoping for a 35mm Noctilux more. Lets see.
NB23 Posted September 26, 2017 Share #64 Posted September 26, 2017 The 135 Elmarit-M, the heavyweight champ of the Ms, is only a little more than 650g. It has an extremely long throw, which confirms Andy’s point about throw-weight. I believe te 90 apo is 660 grams. But moreso, the 90mm apo in Black paint is definitely the heaviest. I'll have to weigh mine but I wouldn't hesitate to say it's around 900 grams.

01af Posted September 26, 2017 Share #68 Posted September 26, 2017 Apo-Summicron-M 90 mm Asph Black paint is without a doubt over 900 grams. The black-paint version (special edition) has a brass barrel, just like the silver-chromed lenses, and hence is heavier than the regular black-anodized version which has an aluminum barrel. Not sure if it actually is more than 900 g, though ...
LucisPictor Posted September 26, 2017 Share #69 Posted September 26, 2017 Actually, no. It's nice that Leica offers such a lens for those who want it. And I would like to shoot with it some day. But with my Mandler 2/50 and 2/90 I have all I need (complemented by an admittedly fantastic Voigtländer 2.5/75).

jdlaing Posted September 26, 2017 Share #73 Posted September 26, 2017 I'm sorry. I don't understand the question??? Help. A Noctilux 35 would be so big it would block the rangefinder window.
dkmoore Posted September 27, 2017 Share #74 Posted September 27, 2017 I am not so sure that a 35 Noctilux would be any bigger than the 50 version. Take for instance the 35 Summicron versus the 50 Summicron. Another example is that the 35 Summilux is only slightly fatter than the 50 Summilux but isn't longer. The 50 Noctiux is already extremely fat. Pure speculation on my part.
lct Posted September 27, 2017 Share #75 Posted September 27, 2017 35mm framelines are wider than 50mm so the VF blockage would be worse. Did you try a CV 35/1.2 already?
