Any enthusiasm for the upcoming 1.25/75mm Noctilux?

A 75 mm 1:1.2 will almost certainly have a long focus throw anyway.

I guess it's going to be like the 50 mm Noctilux. The old 50 mm 1:1 had a long focus throw; the new 50 mm 1:0.95 has a shorter focus throw which is just short of being too short.

That's why I assume the upcoming 75 mm 1:1.25 will have a focus throw which will be longer than the 75 mm Apo-Summicron's or Summarit's but shorter (unfortunately) than the old 75 mm Summilux's.

Hopefully that will be right.  The throw on the Noctilux is fine for me ...

Very interested in the 75mm Noctilux but it has to prove itself first. I don't think Leica are going to disappoint though.

Comparing performance and character with the 75mm Summilux will likely be similar(ish) to comparing Noctilux 1.0 with 0.95.

I'm not sure I will ever sell the Summilux though, it's one special lens. I was hoping for a 35mm Noctilux more.

Lets see.

The 135 Elmarit-M, the heavyweight champ of the Ms, is only a little more than 650g.

It has an extremely long throw, which confirms Andy’s point about throw-weight.

I believe te 90 apo is 660 grams.

But moreso, the 90mm apo in Black paint is definitely the heaviest. I'll have to weigh mine but I wouldn't hesitate to say it's around 900 grams.

90 APO Black paint is without a doubt over 900 grams. If you can find its PDF you'd spare me the energy of weighing mine...

No idea about your barbell err lens ;) but the bigger 90/2 v1 (v2 below) was "only" 23.5 oz (670g) by comparison.

Apo-Summicron-M 90 mm Asph Black paint is without a doubt over 900 grams.

The black-paint version (special edition) has a brass barrel, just like the silver-chromed lenses, and hence is heavier than the regular black-anodized version which has an aluminum barrel. Not sure if it actually is more than 900 g, though ... <_<

I agree Paul. I would have LOVED to have seen a 35mm Noctilux.

I am not so sure that a 35 Noctilux would be any bigger than the 50 version. Take for instance the 35 Summicron versus the 50 Summicron. Another example is that the 35 Summilux is only slightly fatter than the 50 Summilux but isn't longer.

The 50 Noctiux is already extremely fat. Pure speculation on my part.

Let me explain to those who are a little sloooow.

My Noctilux 0.95 attacker’s to my TL2 makes it a 75mm f1.425 amazing set up and with the IVF very very easy to nail focus [emoji41][emoji41][emoji41]❤️[emoji41]
