This thread is suffering from overposting by a few members; I have hidden some posts. It is a an unwritten convention that we leave space for other participants. wow, what terrific photographs! Do you know the circumstances for the emotional response of the 2 men? thanks so much for these.

 

Hello, thank you very much.  The photo of the 2 men was taken at a protest by indigenous Australians with heavy police presence during the recent commonwealth games. The man on the left had just addressed the crowd and then had broken down with the emotion.

Every time I look in, there is a slew of superb and thought-provoking images. Nice work, all. Posting an old one, from January 2016. Glassford Street, in Glasgow - Leica M2, 28mm Summicron ASPH mk1, Ilford HP5 pushed to 800 ISO.

Really like this shot.  It's crisp and the contrast is perfect for the scene.  Do many of your pushed HP5 come out with this contrast and sharpness?

Thank you very much. I've shot a few rolls of HP5 pushed to 800/1600 but I still need to develop some of them. What I've seen so far, it has a nice look to it. That said, I tried Ilford Delta 400 in January this year and loved the results. So, for the time being, I've switched allegiances to Delta.

 

Really must start working through my bag of undeveloped black and white film.

 

Anyway, here's another one on HP5 pushed to 800 ISO. From a couple of years ago. Shot on a Leica M5, and 35mm Summilux ASPH FLE at f1.4. The light was fading fast, perhaps not immediately obvious, but the brightness of the lights in the background shows how dark it really was.
