rwchisholm Posted August 3, 2017 Share #1 Posted August 3, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) My widest is the 21 Voigt 1.8. Cracking good lens! I shot some landscapes in Utah last week visiting my brother in law and had a blast. I would love to hear opinions and see some landscapes with the 15 on the 240 or M10 (I'm shooting the 10). Thanks. tonyniev Posted August 3, 2017 Share #2 Posted August 3, 2017 I got the CV 15 III and noticed that this lens is very suceptible to flares and blow out with bright lights, I like it during normally lit landscapes: Sunset, notice the sun flares:

tonyniev Posted August 3, 2017 Share #6 Posted August 3, 2017 I took a quick interior snapshot on M10, I like the lens despite the lens flare will be in my bag and may stay on the Sony A7R the travel back up camera.

mls1483 Posted December 27, 2017 Share #17 Posted December 27, 2017 After so many nice pictures there is almost nothing to add. The CV 15mm Super Wide Heliar III f/4.5 is sharp, has little distortion, is vey solidly built, renders very clear, has nice colors - and it is very small and light. That is maybe the main advantage. I never take a big and heavy lens with me, if I do not (deliberately) plan to use it. The Laowa 15mm Zero-D ("zero distortion") f/2.0 is even sharper and faster, but also much larger and heavier. Morevoer, it needs to be adapted. The de-click switch is not very solid, in addition. The Laowa 12mm Zero-D f/2.8 is a very nice and solid lens. Of course, also very large and heavy, because it is a DSLR design (in Sony E-mount it has a "simulated mirror box", i.e. a hollow tube).
lct Posted December 28, 2017 Share #18 Posted December 28, 2017 [...] The CV 15mm Super Wide Heliar III f/4.5 [...] is very small and light [...] The CV 15/4.5 v3 (left) would be bulkier than a Summilux 50/1.4 asph or a Summicron 28/2 v2 with hood i've been told. If true i'd prefer the smaller CV 15/4.5 v2 (right) personally. Any experience with this lens on crop Leica cameras (M8, T, TL, TL2, CL)? Just curious as i'm after a small lens wider than 21mm for my digital CL. Welcome, dear visitor! I have used v2 in M240 (earlier M9) and Sony APS-C. For me the main strength is in full 15mm view with all the drama of wide angle. On crop sensor it is lost and (more importantly) the native wide (at least with Sony's super compact 16-50) wins. Not sure whether using native is an option on CL, but I don't like crop. This is why this is my FF lens. Edited December 31, 2017 by jmahto
