Advertisement Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 Hi marcg, Take a look here 16mm Hologon. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
CamUser Posted June 28, 2017 Share #2 Posted June 28, 2017 I'm just toying around with an idea – will a 16mm Hologon fit into an M10? Thanks There are some examples of readily converted to M mount floating around. I think there is one now on ebay complete with ND filter. I would consider VC 15mm. cp995 Posted June 28, 2017 Share #3 Posted June 28, 2017 ... I would consider VC 15mm. Which version? Any idea how v1/2 work on the m10 (reg. color cast)?
CamUser Posted June 28, 2017 Share #4 Posted June 28, 2017 Which version? Any idea how v1/2 work on the m10 (reg. color cast)? VIII works well on M240 and SonyA7X.. Edit: Just saw this site for older version. http://www.waloszek.de/m240_vc15_e.php and V III http://aboutphotography-tomgrill.blogspot.co.uk/2015/04/voigtlander-15mm-f45-iii-lens-on-leica.html
marcg Posted June 28, 2017 Author Share #5 Posted June 28, 2017 Thanks to everyone. When I asked if it would fit into an M10, I should have said that I'm asking because I'm worried that it fits in too deeply and could damage the camera
pico Posted June 28, 2017 Share #6 Posted June 28, 2017 I'm just toying around with an idea – will a 16mm Hologon fit into an M10? There were two Hologons, a 16 and a 15mm. They used different center filters. The choice between the Hologon 16/15, VC 10mm, 12, or 15 is not so difficult, but I've used them. The 10mm over a full 35mm digital sensor is best, hands-down. Guest JMF Posted June 28, 2017 Share #7 Posted June 28, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks to everyone. When I asked if it would fit into an M10, I should have said that I'm asking because I'm worried that it fits in too deeply and could damage the cameraIt Cannot give a clear answer, just confirm to be careful ... I had a M converted 16 Hologon for a while . I used it on my MMv1 but am not sure that the M10 has the same specs as the MMv1. The Hologon 16 mm rear lens element extends / protrudes so much when focussed at infinity that it will touch the SL 601 mechanical shutter when using a Leica M to SL adapter, saw this myself ! Some strong fall off to be expected even with the ND filter fitted, here a couple of shots with quite some post work done to clean the vignetting/fall off : on the MMv1: Au Carroussel du Louvre by JM__, on Flickr SL 601: Josef Sudek exhibition, going in ! by JM__, on Flickr Cheers JM
marcg Posted June 28, 2017 Author Share #8 Posted June 28, 2017 Thanks for the reply and for the pics. I'm really concerned about not damaging my M10 so I'm hoping that someone else will take the risk for me!
pico Posted June 28, 2017 Share #9 Posted June 28, 2017 Some strong fall off to be expected even with the ND filter fitted, A deal breaker for me is the Hologon is an f/8 lens, and to make the center filter work properly, it must be stopped own to f/16 and then we have to add the filter-factor. marcg Posted June 28, 2017 Author Share #10 Posted June 28, 2017 The deal-maker for me is the quality of the images - but I'm still nowhere nearer to knowing if it is going to break my camera

brill64 Posted June 29, 2017 Share #12 Posted June 29, 2017 Since Leica changed the width dimensions of the M10, compared with previous digital M's, I'd check this carefully. I'd imagine the exit lens pupil to shutter dimension remains the same but don't quote me on it. Maybe email Leica directly? Worth a shot. It's a great little lens & has been talked about a lot on this forum with the M8 & M9. Try a search. I hope you get a firm answer.
marcg Posted June 29, 2017 Author Share #13 Posted June 29, 2017 Thanks for this reply. I'll keep on hunting round and I'll report back here if I find out any information. I don't have one of these lenses and although I have an old monochrom I haven't made a decision to buy a Hologon yet
lct Posted June 29, 2017 Share #14 Posted June 29, 2017 Extracted from the M10 instructions manual, page 135. I have no experience with this lens though. FWIW Welcome, dear visitor! marcg Posted June 29, 2017 Author Share #15 Posted June 29, 2017 Well spotted. Thank you. Definitely very worrying. A shame they don't give some specific guidance on the 16mm. Does anyone know the differences between the 15 and the 16 models I think we may have to wait and some altruistic (read: reckless) person tries it out for us. marcg Posted June 29, 2017 Author Share #18 Posted June 29, 2017 Thanks. Is that 1 mm longer? Or 1 mm shorter? Still not quite sure whether it's going to fit into an M10
