Is Leica NJ service/repair still an issue?

I've read that up to earlier this year, trying to contact the Leica service reps at their NJ, USA center have been very difficult given the loss of more dependable staff and an outdated repair tracking system.  I recall my dealings with the original staff about 4 years ago were fairly easy with accurate communication.  Now that my MM1 may have a corrosion spot, I'm a little anxious as to what quality of service I may receive although I may not have a choice if the only option is a sensor replacement.  Have ease of communications and feedback improved and/or repairs been performed on a more timely basis at Allendale?

For those that live close enough, would one drop off in person or send it in with a trackable delivery service?  If I drop off personally,  I'd ask for a receipt and a specific contact person's phone number and email so in the event I need to follow up.  If I need to call in the future, hopefully I would be able to speak with a human being on the other end.

I always drop it off and am always treated very well.  In one case a tech was able to solve the problem as I waited.

Does NJ do M9 sensor replacement?

While I had ok service recently on my M246, the communication was very poor. I must have emailed 4 or 5 times with no reply. The camera was returned for an issue with the sensor. I wanted to know what was repaired, replaced or whatever but never got a response.
