I do, but I wouldn't claim that it's more than an impression. Â The only functional change I can think of that might cause it is Exposure Preview which is permanently on - continuous exposure evaluation and EVF adjustment might demand more power? FlashGordonPhotography Posted June 16, 2017 Share #302 Â Posted June 16, 2017 Not that I've noticed. Then again I almost always had exposure preview on before, except in studio and a dim reception. Â Gordon

steppenw0lf Posted June 18, 2017 Share #304 Â Posted June 18, 2017 Before we get a more precise battery status (percentages display) it is very difficult to notice a difference. For me it is also difficult to guess how long the last bar will last. Â (When it finally turns into red). At the same time I do not want to switch battery when there is still one bar left. So I would really like the usual (phone) percentage display. On CaNikon it is not really a problem, because the battery life is so much longer (5 times ?). It usually takes days to get to the last bar.
ramarren Posted June 18, 2017 Share #305  Posted June 18, 2017 I find it very easy to mark each time I put a fully charged battery in. If you do this all the time, you can determine exactly how many exposures you make with a fully charged battery.  There's really no need to drive a battery down to total exhaustion either.

New Fish Posted June 19, 2017 Share #308 Â Posted June 19, 2017 I was shooting video a couple of days ago for the first time since the update, and I have found a problem now that there is an option for the split SD cards i.e. Dng c1 and jpeg c2. So essentially you have to remove the card 2 if shooting 4k or the camera stops recording saying the card is incompatible, well, these are the same cards I have used since October and never had this issue before. Is it me or has there been an improvement to the shockingly bad 1080p footage ? Looks like it to my eye, still unusable though.

You should report this to Leica so that they can fix this bug (if it is confirmed).

I did not do any measurements however, also noticed that the battery life got a bit worse. I sometimes carry the camera with power on in sleep mode. Thought may be that was the reason. Started to switch it off more often. If anyone knows how and does actual test I would be grateful.  Also noticed that AF on 24-90 in difficult lighting situations got better.  Just my 2 cents
sillbeers15 Posted July 5, 2017 Share #311 Â Posted July 5, 2017 no... that was indoor and it was a bit dark. I wanted to see if I can come close to 1/8000. To reach that time I had to go up to ISO 18.000. That is nonsense in "real life" - nobody would make such a shot with 1/6000. But this is a test shot and I wanted to know if the constellation would work proper or not. There are no black areas in the picture at 1/6000 as you can see. Ignore the motif and ignore the ISO. Both is not important Hi Vogelweide, I presume you are talking about your set up on Manual mode with the default mechanical focal plane shutter and not electronic shutter (e shutter does not trigger hotshoe contact). I too did the similar trial and have successfully fired HSS (non TTL) from my full manual flash set at full power and triggered via a pair of Pocket Wizard plus llls set at CH18 & HSR on receiver and mycamera set at Manual mode: ISO50, 1/4000s & f0.95. I published my trial in another tread of this forum. What I cannot understand is the M & SL both are designed with mechanical focal plane shutter. In theory, above sync speed of 1/180s should create a semi dark band appearing in picture? However that dark band did not appear in my trial. That results were well & good like yours. Ken Abrahams Posted July 21, 2017 Share #312  Posted July 21, 2017 (edited) Hello  I have been too busy lately and only today have I updated to firmware 3.0. I have read/scrolled through all the posts here and one good bit of info was about using Flash/SL on Manual with HSS. Thank you. I only shoot M lenses and surprisingly when the new firmware came on, I had S and P modes showing. They have never showed up before sadly. After turning camera on later, everything went back to A and M modes which is just as well really. Now I don't have to read up on those options and everything is normal.  I am not a big flash user however the HSS and TTL is handy for the odd friend's wedding etc using the SF 64. I rig up a small soft box which can be hand held by "James" and connected using Viltrox Sc 29 cable and another ten foot extension added to that. All HSS, TTL and FEC communication to off camera flash from SL is operational.   Thanks for the discussion Edited July 21, 2017 by Kendoo
FMB Posted July 21, 2017 Share #313 Â Posted July 21, 2017 Talking about firmwares my SL remains with the issue of bad-numbering the files every time I formate my cards, of course after have .installed V.2 and V.3. Am I alone or the "virus" is alive in your cameras? Â Please, Leica people, do something before launching the SL II Â Â Francisco.
thighslapper Posted July 21, 2017 Share #314  Posted July 21, 2017 This has been ignored by Leica despite repeated requests.  This issue .... and the inability to count to more than 999 runs through all the recent cameras produced by Leica...... not sure about the M10 and new TL2 ......  Would take a few lines of code to correct ..... as would the ability to set numbering to a selected starting point.

FMB Posted July 22, 2017 Share #317  Posted July 22, 2017 They think it doesn't matter but it is a mess according the system one is using, because at least me, I don't know how to correct the numbering unless by a pedestrian procedures.  This is not the first time I complain about thouse simple fails so "difficult" to have been solved by software people of Leica, above all thinking that they take months and months to end up with them.  Leica should be aware how irritating is wait and wait for issues easy to solve if they decide to do it  Please, COME ON!!!  Francisco.

Leica should be aware how irritating is wait and wait for issues easy to solve if they decide to do it Please, COME ON!!! Francisco. It irritates me as well and should be corrected. That said Lightroom (and Bridge) offer a simple remembering system upon import. Apple Aperture offered the same when I used it. Â I believe on Mac OS you could also set up a simple Automator script to renumber if you're importing directly from card to file system without using an application to manage your files. LD_50 Posted July 22, 2017 Share #320 Â Posted July 22, 2017 I don't understand your response. Lightroom and Bridge renumber upon import with whatever naming/numbering convention you choose. It takes zero additional work once setup.
