kalifornier Posted April 28, 2017 Share #12 Posted April 28, 2017 Lovely pics. Cheetahs are becoming increasingly vulnerable to habitat loss/poaching/trophy hunting. I hope someday we don't end up with pics only.

jaapv Posted May 1, 2017 Author Share #18 Posted May 1, 2017 That, Brent, is the real fascination of wildlife photography - disturb the animals as little as possible and get the shot nevertheless. If you do it right they will ignore you, although they will sometimes look you over, assessing whether you are a threat, before carrying on. I hate the goings on in the touristy parks, Kruger, Masai Mara, Serengeti part of South Luanga, etc. The animals are so harassed by tourist (and tour operator!) pressure that they change their behaviour. For instance Cheetahs in the Masai Mara have taken to night hunting, to which they ar singularly unadapted, because they attract a circle of dozens of landrovers and vans each time they show themselves, making it nearly impossible to get prey in the daytime.
