You'd have red sand on your face too, if...

They seem to be naturally photogenic and the ones we photographed in a game park in the Karoo, South Africa, seemed quite tame and allowed us surprisingly close. Some of the young ones had obviously twigged that they could beg from tourists. This pair had obviously lunched well but not wisely. From the wear, scratch marks and dirt on this large boulder, it was obviously a favourite place to sleep off a large meal.

Taken in 2004 with a Digilux 2.

I have the greatest amount of admiration and respect for any mammal that catches and eats scorpions. I had abig one in the toe of my hiking boot in Costa Rica. I miraculously escaped as I slowly unlaced my boot and ripped it off my foot with amazing speed while being totally traumatized.

Great shots of more creatures that only a few of us get to see and photograph. Thanks again for another nature show.

It should be here, UPS, within the next half hour. The withdrawal has been awful. Thank you for the moral support. I have been photographing with iPhone 7 for a month. Doesn't ring my bell.

Wilson, that's one of the first photos I've seen posted on this forum. I almost shot coffee out my nose.
