do they provide you with a modified bottom plate that gives direct access to the battery?

I think one just leaves the plate off and go in bare bottom. The battery door flap has magnets which fools the camera to think bottom plate is on and clsed.

I feel that M240 feel better to grip than the thinner M10. On the M10 my thumb rests on the LCD. That's why I wanted a 1/2 case.

Of course, "chaqu'un à son goût"! ;)

I prefer a thinner body and maybe a thumbrest for my thumb ...

With this case and thumbs up, I feel more secure and so comfy, otherwise Leica wouldn't made one of their own.

I have one in black lizard--sweet!!!

And yes it does fit with the bottom plate on.  Understand that the bottom plate moves the case about 1/8 in  down so it doesnt have the exact perfect fit that the art di mano cases are known for  but not so much that it will effect any function or anyone would take notice.  A beautiful case and superb workmanship.  I have had cases from several other vendors and this is far and away the best fit.

Just received this. Makes the M10 much better in terms of feel and grip security.

You forgot sex appeal  :) :)

Arte di Mano also makes a case for the M10 that is secured to the camera with the snaps that go around the lug nuts, like the M240 Leica cases. I have that one. The case with the trap door in the bottom is intended to be used without the bottom plate, and that one made me nervous about water exposure, dust, etc. If that case is mounted with the bottom plate on, then the case still has to be removed to change battery or card, defeating the easy access purpose of the magnetic door. This is why I bought the deeper one that mounts with snaps. Either way, Arte di Mano makes a great case, with beautiful leather and workmanship. Paul
