Advertisement Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 Hi lct, Take a look here When the Leica Forum was young. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pop Posted April 19, 2017 Share #42 Posted April 19, 2017 ??? Thank you, but that is precisely the kind of cumbersome theory I never want to deal with anymore. My lifetime has gotten too short to study complicated rules of entry into any archives just to find something there perhaps. Similar searches I had to do at earlier times occasionally for my profession. Who does not implement the rule "Keep it simple" remains unaffected. Too bad, it might have been a pleasure to read some pages of the former Leica-Forum again, but please only with simpler accessibility. As you wish. Why you would want to use your valuable time left to you for re-reading old stuff from the internet is beyond me. But then, I think I might be older than you. lct Posted April 19, 2017 Share #43 Posted April 19, 2017 Interesting infos on the old forum. See what John Francis wrote about the Elcan-R 75/2 for example: http://tinyurl.com/mgkmjft
gyoung Posted April 19, 2017 Share #44 Posted April 19, 2017 As you wish. Why you would want to use your valuable time left to you for re-reading old stuff from the internet is beyond me. But then, I think I might be older than you. And having spent some time trying to find things in 'traditional' archives only to find someone has put the item in the wrong box, such 'modern' online systems are much better.... Guest Posted April 19, 2017 Share #45 Posted April 19, 2017 Old LUF archives from 10-2002 to 01-2004: http://tinyurl.com/l6uatfw Old LUF archives from 01-2004 to 07-2004: http://tinyurl.com/ktj4p95 (click on Previous to view next archive) Thanks, that's much easier for me to handle. As you wish. Why you would want to use your valuable time left to you for re-reading old stuff from the internet is beyond me. But then, I think I might be older than you. Only for some nostalgic memories, nothing serious. May be I'm younger than you, but your profession I presume was much closer to the digital world than mine. Computer stuff was for me only the continuation of secretary work, annoying but necessary. And having spent some time trying to find things in 'traditional' archives only to find someone has put the item in the wrong box, such 'modern' online systems are much better.... Gerry If you get error messages too often like the following, you might get nostalgic desires to old fashioned register boxes: www.leica-camera.com:80/cgi-bin/site_forum_main.pl?1 "Error. leicapages Posted May 30, 2017 Share #46 Posted May 30, 2017 Still around, but alas with less time (but perhaps more wisdom).
Maarten Posted June 21, 2017 Share #47 Posted June 21, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I miss Lars Bergquist's presence here. Nicole, too. Jeff Thanks Jeff, I miss Lars as well with his 'the Old Man of the young Leica Forum' type of signatures. He was in full swing and then suddenly disappeared. andybarton Posted June 21, 2017 Share #48 Posted June 21, 2017 I am sure that Lars is now contributing to a Leica Forum in a much better place than this one. I fear that Nicole is there too.
