One hour after he buried his brother. Taken on the m10m. May be not meaningful to you, to his family it is.

and to me it is … this kind of imagery to me fully justifies the investment in great tools…

I agree, wonderful use of the .95 Noctilux strengths for balance of the improved image stability and quality both in focus and the out of focus rendering overall as compared to the previous F1 Noctilux, yet possesses the magical separation and dreaminess the 50 1.4 Summilux's are unable to produce. Lovely.

Very painterly!

Thank you both really appreciate the compliments, while the noctilux like many believe is more like a steroid summilux, that extra shallow dof is what it really unique and try to exploit it, not always the best walk around lens, more like a more intentional lens but a joy when results achieved

It’s a beautiful image - very well done.

Would love to hear your thoughts between the 0.95, 1 and 1.2? I got the 1.2 re-issue, but as I remember, you sold yours.

Best, Mads

hi Mads,

you got it right, sadly i had to part with my 1.2 re-issue.. the reason being 1.2 was my main lens for over a year or longer, i loved that lens, being a noctilux, i could expect some less clinical images compared to apo cron and summilux i have, i love it's size, it was so good that it limited my usage with other lens being the 0.95, apo summicron and the summilux

however, i had to choose between one lens to let go to fund a 35 lux SR, long story short, i decided to part ways with my noctilux 1.2, it was for emotional and stupid reason though... it happened to be the newest and latest lens into my line ups.. i had less connection with the lens.. i had too many memories with the rest.. sound stupid? 🤣

0.95 is just a perfect lens for portrait, it ain't as clinical as apo or lux asph, it's still got that dreamy magic looks, definitely my go to lens for portrait session, the F1 i haven't got the chance to use much, but from what i experienced, the vignette is just to heavy to my liking and for it's size, i prefer the 0.95 all together, and definitely the 1.2 reissue in that regard.. i always shot my lens wide open, unless i need that depth of field

im confidence to take only the 1.2 when going light on a trip, i loved this lens so much, i didn't have the chance to use my other 50mm.. hope u see the picture what i was trying to say.. but bear in mind, each to their own lens preference

Makes sense and thanks for your explanation. 😊 Yeah, these decisions are often emotionally based.

Love your work with both the 1.2 and 0.95.

I’m happy, I got the 1.2 although 35mm is my main focal length. But the 1.2 has really inspired me to shoot more 50mm. 😊 Great non-clinical look. More organic and personal. Also got the 35SR - which I love too. 😊

Best, Mads

Hi mads, best of both world in the reissue world, i miss my 1.2 a week after i let it go, but i didnt have a choice, very organic looks, my compact travel set.. and stopped down is just different lens, how versatile it could be, hope you enjoy ‘em as much!

Thanks @jakontil

I have only shot a few shots stopped down so far. Did you find it still retains some of it’s organic character when stopped down?

Thanks! It is the «inner glow in the blacks» or «fatty blacks» feeling I like… Could clarity have something to do with it…? Use LR and no SEFEX myself.

Perhaps, but today I do not use clarity. Often the "inner glow" is due to capture and lens more than software. Sorry so long I n anbsweru=ing as seldom come here anymore due to the Privacy confusion they put forth.
