I like this image!

I know this is a lens thread, but I’d like to know what can I learn from how you got this image, thought process, filters, PP etc. can you say something more ?

Hey, just now seeing this.  Thanks for the complement.  I shot this of my friend who was hiking ahead of me on the sand dunes in New Mexico.  Just saw him cresting on that dune and it looked like a cool shot and I just quickly composed and took it.  I was using sunny 16 for metering.  Probably shot it at 1/500 and F11 if I had to guess.  That camera had a light leak so that's why there are some streaks on the negative.  A roll or two after this the shutter jammed on this Leica IIIf and I sent it out for a CLA and presumably the light leak is fixed but I haven't developed a test roll yet.  I actually kind of like the light leak effect on a lot of the shots will be so sad to see it go.  This is just a Jpeg scan of the film.  It was developed and scanned at The Dark Room in California.  As far as PP, I use Lightroom, but I don't believe I did anything to this shot.  Jpeg scans of film don't give you much latitude anyway.

I had a UV/Haze filter on my collapsible Summicron.  No lens hood.   The Leica III with collapsible summicron is a very portable set up so it's good for hiking or traveling and enabling me to catch scenes like this.  When I shoot with the IIIf I always use 400 speed film, usually either Portra 400 or Trix.  I do this because I'm metering by feel and I like to keep at least one static variable - the film speed.  Plus Trix and Portra are pretty forgiving.
