Desmoprem Posted February 28, 2017 Share #1 Posted February 28, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Somewhere on this forum, someone posted a photo of a M10 with an engraved top plate. Does anyone have information about this. I have preordered a M10 with expected arrival 6 months away, allowing me time to edit my order. In talking to the Leica Store I have ordered from, they state they are not aware of this configuration and that I should research it further. So I put this before you guys to see if anyone knows how this can be done. As I recall the top plate was engraved with "Leica" and in a smaller font "Wetzler, Germany". Overgaard Posted February 28, 2017 Share #2 Posted February 28, 2017 Usually you can get (almost) any Leica camera engraved in Wetzlar. Either text, a signature, a drawing, or you can get engraved any classic Leica logo or engraving that they have done in the past. The price usually is around Euro 250. You can get this done at any point you are in Wetzlar, or are sending the camera to Wetzlar. It might be easier to write cs@leica-camera.com and ask how to get the engraving on your camera first, then coordinate with the store. And it might be that it can't be coordinated that way but you have to do it as a separate thing. But the "a la carte program" is being launched for the M10 as well, and engraving would be part of that. So in that way, your store should be able to modify the order to an "a la carte" with engraving after your desire. I have a section of this article about engravings:http://www.overgaard.dk/Leica-M-Type-240-aka-Leica-M10-digital-rangefinder-camera-page-34-sexy-stuff-for-the-worlds-most-sexy-camera.html
otto.f Posted February 28, 2017 Share #3 Posted February 28, 2017 If my satisfaction with the M10 keeps on growing for 3 months with the same slope as in the first 3 weeks after buying, I might consider such a tattoo
elmars Posted February 28, 2017 Share #4 Posted February 28, 2017 Usually Leica does not allow such engravings in the first six months of production.
Steve Ash Posted February 28, 2017 Share #5 Posted February 28, 2017 Actually I just asked Leica CS if it is possible to change the leather finish of my M10 but they refused.

jaapv Posted March 2, 2017 Share #7 Posted March 2, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Leica CS will have this information. My guess is that there will be an A-La-Carte program in a year (or longer). Leica will not do such modifications as long as regular production is at 100%, except for very priviliged customers. (i.e. not me...)
ynp Posted March 4, 2017 Share #8 Posted March 4, 2017 Is it possible to find a reliable engraver somewhere to put the Leica script and an additional engraving?? I want to give an M10 to my wife who still shoots her M8.2 Safari. The birthday is this summer. Sadly, the Russian man, who did a lot of faked Barnacks died last year. I used him for such works before. Thanks. Yevgeny
Desmoprem Posted March 5, 2017 Author Share #9 Posted March 5, 2017 Found on the Leica M10 Camera Group on Facebook in a post by Edison Sam. I hope I'm not crossing any lines by posting this publicly found image, but it supports my question. Moderators can remove it if deemed inappropriate.
