Madrid - Calle de Arenal - ISO1000, wide open, 1/60s

One thing I really can't get over these days is the number of people on their phones!

I am getting more and more amazed at how the Q handles varying light sources. It brings the colours together very well and hot and cool is handled brilliantly across the whole image. Unless my eyes are decieving me, I'm also yet to see any chromatic aberration on any of my shots. The exported image doesn't do the rendering justice. In LR you can see the detail on the signage on zoom right down to the clear plastic peeling off the sign on the top right of the shofront.

As an aside, the restaurant frontages in Madrid are just fantastic.

Beautiful, love this photo. What kind of lighting was this?

...... just in the kitchen ....... with a small LED light handheld to add highlights in the eyes .......

In fact a friend brought her daughter (and a herd of kids) so I could show her how to use her Sony H300 compact camera ...... which to my shame I found completely impenetrable and far too complex even for me, let alone a 13yr old. Thankfully the battery went flat so I had to use my Q to explain some basic principles. Lyra, her friend was our model. They are both photo mad and seem to spend all day snapping with their phones ...... and little Lyra had images on her Samsung mobile that put my selection of recent photos in the shade ....... a very talented girl with a great eye for a photo and real style ..... something that you unfortunately can't really teach ....   and she was very photogenic as a bonus
