I agree. It is an excellent image. Would cropping out the bush on the left side and leaving some space on the right make it even stronger?

Sound suggestion IMHO. The compositional ‘rule’ of thirds and subjects having space to look into an image. I know rules are made to be broken but sometimes they can be effective guides!

Now my Olympus flash (FL600R) has broken, probably because the rather 'excessive' use (I use the same flash for my Olympus E-M1 and Leica Q). I give up using Olympus flash as I am dissapointed with it's build quality (I have two of them, and they all are broken after only few months of use).

Does anybody here have suggestion for a decent flash for both cameras?

Compositionally, for the way the eye works, I understand cropping. But subject-wise, wondering if the bareness of bush doesn't add to the sense of separation from the world below, juxtaposing that bareness with the living human and dog.... I keep staring at this beautiful picture, and can't make up my mind whether better to crop.

Perfectly valid point - either way it’s a totally captivaring and atmospheric image.

i think on balance the image as shown is the better view...
