Hello.

 

This was taken at Florida Caverns State Park in Marianna, FL

 

f1.7, ISO 1000, 1/60 sec

 

Had the camera on full auto for the duration of time in the cave.

 

 

Touched up a bit in Lightroom mobile, nothing major.

I designed, printed and dressed up my friends Helmet yesterday, who's part of a car racing team. So we took a few pics of the results.  oh and it was my first time doing a Helmet.

Really?  

Some may not find it tasteful but why should someone be stopped from presenting it?  Should not this forum be about technical presentations of photos and camera/lens capabilities?

Just curious as to why you feel that the presenter should not post it.

I presume that Infiniumguy does indeed find the middle finger objectionable, but should the poster of the photo be admonished not to post ("present") the shot?

 

Is that not a matter of taste?

 

Where do 'we' draw the line on not liking the subject matter versus defining for another what is appropriate to post?

"The Finger" is art. I get that and I'm not a moderator on this forum. I simply offered my opinion. It does offend me because it's not why I visit this forum multiple times each day. I come here to be inspired. To see beautiful photos from other Leica camera lovers. I want the photos here to be of a high standard that cause me to step back and say "Oh wow" when I see them. I can find "offensive" art all over the Internet. I'd like to have this forum be a place where other similar minded people raise the bar. Again. I get it. It is art. I choose to come here like everyone else. If I no longer enjoy the experience, then I'll move on

 

Last, I have written in the past that I admire the photographer in question's work. He does a great job capturing a mood. Certainly this one photo does that. It's just not for my tastes.

There are many photos posted which are absolutely phenomenal and others that do not move me. I was just taken aback by your comment that the poster 'should not post that item on this forum' as being inappropriate. For me, the 'better' reply might have to ignore the photo, or simply to have commented as to why the particular subject matter did not appeal to you. 

 

I appreciate where you are coming from and thank you for your considered reply.

If i haven't broken any forum rules then let the moderators do their job, by removing the image or contacting me about it. But if you feel offended and i haven't like i said broken any rules, you shouldn't try to control peoples work .

 

You in tittle to your opinion and your "high standard" of photos taste, but your taste might not be mines either, if i don't like something i just ignore it. But you sounded like you was speaking for every body.  Now lets move on and post more images, if you wanna make it a debate just make a new topic post and have people talking about it. Maybe you will make new friends that feel the same way as you.
