New land...

As part of a big renovation project the city of Delfzijl is creating new land. Goal is to give room to the water which threatens to flood the city,

during storms in combination with high tide. The Dutch are well known for their battle against water and instead of building dikes they create

new land, which serves as a natural overflow area and new breeding ground for birds.
