A Covering of Snow on Pikes Peak. Our first of the season. Highly cropped. Pretty amazing how far you can push Q images.

These are terrific, tgdinamo, and I esp. like the silhouettes. Most have been a challenge when the sun is setting. Thanks! And the card playing has real pop.

Thank you for kind words! I shoot raw (as I'm sure most here do) so can adjust the exposure in post processing - that makes silhouettes much easier than it used to be when shooting film.

I figured there must have been extra artistry involved. It's nearly impossible to capture all the light directly in those conditions. What nice results!

In the picture I posted above of the winding staircase, I must have used 5 separate adjustment masks of Brightness/Contrast in PS to recapture details of the skylight without losing detail of the stairs, since there was a bright sun coming through the skylight.

The Q files are so nice to work with - I think primarily because of that amazing lens but also the sensor is pretty good as well (in spite of Sony people thrashing it all the time). Because of this all kinds of PP works great so occasionally I have been able to create nightime atmosphere (including silhouettes) by shooting at full daylight at ISO 100 and then pulling the exposure all the way down in PP until silhoueetes emerged.
