Right, I guess that makes more sense to just crop later. When using the crop modes in jpg, does one get a full frame .dng with frame lines as a reference? Thanks for the info.

 

Whenever you select 35mm or 50mm crops, the cropping area is saved in the DNG file and you can access it by pressing the Crop Tool ( C ) from the top bar.

 

Here is how a cropped 35mm DNG file looks in Camera Raw when the "crop" button is pressed.

Wind turbines for generating electricity are very common in parts of the U.S. These were in eastern Colorado as part of a recent road trip. I used a 6-stop ND filter to try and slow down the shutter speed to capture the blades showing motion. Converted to B&W in LR and tones adjusted to my liking.
