Is there any special setting for this ?  Mine fires three frames, but they go one after another and you can hear the shutter in each.  Perhaps when your using the e-shutter if can give you three difference exposures all at once ?

I take that bridge into town and back to the airport overtime I'm in Mumbai.  This is a vey good visual interpretation of the bridge!  Did you walk across or did you do something risky like stopping your car on the side :-) ?

Thanks...I took it from a moving car. Look at the center of the Right side pillar some window reflection is visible.

That is exactly how it works, three exposures very quickly with th exposure composition as you set it.  In Lightroom they show all being within one second.  Do not use this technique for moving objects -- but for stationary ones, this is fantastic.  The over-exposed on gets the shadow detail while the underexposed on retains detail in the highlights.  When merged with HDR in Lightroom, the results are even better than "stacking" in Photoshop.

But I only use this when I know the dynamic range is immense.  For almost all shots, the Q has sufficient dynamic range with its wonderful sensor!

Ah I see, this is basically the same as auto bracketing on most modern camera's.  Not really all that unique of feature.  Some other brands can do the same, but you can even select to take 3, 5 or 7 shots, and wider intervals. Handy feature, but as you mention, it can be an issue with moving subjects, waves crashing etc.  Useful for doing HDR or even just exposure blending.

What had me excited for a moment was you said instantaneous, which I incorrectly thought to mean not sequential.  In other words, if the can could give 3 different exposures, from one single frame, much like white balance bracketing, that would be a pretty unique feature.

I thought perhaps something with the e-shutter were it cuts off recording early and writes that data to a file, thus the underexposed image, and then it keeps recording longer for the overexposed image, but all of them happening at the same time, so there wouldn't be subject movement issues.

Something like that might be beyond the laws of physics LOL
