jmschuh Posted August 6, 2017 Author Share #61 Posted August 6, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) interesting, did you compare pictures with some done with a wider lens or you assume this from the zeiss viewfinder? is not possible that viewfidner is also not a real 25mm ? I compared with other lenses and realised that the Q is much wider than other 28mm lenses.

Skyring Posted August 12, 2017 Share #62 Posted August 12, 2017 (edited) nice, did you glue the "grip"? Just blutac for the photo. The large splitring held the bootlace too high for comfort, and I hesitated to cannibalise one of my Olympodes for the shallower rings they use. In the end I went for an off-the-shelf fitout: Leica body grip, "Thumbs Up" thumb grip, Artisan and Artist 295 wrist strap and freezer bag sealer. The body grip has a nice chunky grab to it, but the baseplate adds another few millimetres of height, cuts off access to the battery/SD card cubby, and puts the tripod mount wildly off centre. The A&A strap is very nice, but a little too long for my preferred carry. I like to have the strap around my wrist for security, and have the camera dangling, with my fingertips holding onto the grip. The freezer clip shortens the strap to just the right fit. With the thumb grip I can hold the body nice and firmly when I want to take a shot. Edited August 12, 2017 by Skyring
HighlandK Posted August 12, 2017 Share #63 Posted August 12, 2017 The Tie Her Up Komboloi wrist strap adjusts to fit snugly round the wrist and provided you are happy with a 'rope' rather than flat tape would avoid the freezer clip, as delightful an accessory as it is!
Skyring Posted August 12, 2017 Share #64 Posted August 12, 2017 The Tie Her Up Komboloi wrist strap adjusts to fit snugly round the wrist and provided you are happy with a 'rope' rather than flat tape would avoid the freezer clip, as delightful an accessory as it is! They charge £55 for shipping outside the UK. Geez. I've got six hours in Dubai airport tomorrow. I might check out the shops there. My freezer clip isn't to give me a snug fit on the wrist - though it does that - but to give me exactly the right "dangle length" allowing my fingers to curl around the camera grip without actually carrying the weight. As an example, here's my much-loved Olympus. I salvaged the cord from some defunct item of travel gear. The adjustable "toggle" allows me to set the length as required. jon m Posted February 4, 2019 Share #66 Posted February 4, 2019 (edited) Keeping it pretty simple for now. So many temptations though. Have a thumb grip but not really bonding with it. Other half-cases I may cycle through as well, incl Tekiac Stealth and Arte di Mano case/strap. Toying with the idea of a soft shutter release but finding it hard to justify as the original equipment seems fine so far. Welcome, dear visitor! It’s sturdy and good value. Take your time before adding unnecessary fittings to your Q. I sold my Q and I’m left with bits and pieces that don’t sell at anything near what I paid. jon m Posted February 8, 2019 Share #69 Posted February 8, 2019 @lucerne, there are some stick-on options. Got these on Amazon and do like the feel of it. "ProDot Shutter Button" But fell off after a couple hours and lost to the wind. 2 to a package so will try again but pretty sure the same will happen. Inexpensive enough so no great loss to the experiment.

I love that the Q-P does not have the logo on the front and has the engraved signature on the top. Beautiful looking camera. I saw some review on YouTube where the owner had covered his Q in electrical tape to disguise what it was so he was less of a target doing street photography. A lot cooler than the nuanced fashionista Q-P as the guy clearly bought it for what it can do and not as a Gucci handbag.
