As it happens I have just had my Elmar-M coded. Only makes sence if a lens is listed in the 'manual' lens menu though as I am not sure if it would record others (In the EXIF data) . There are after all only a few collapsible lenses: Elmar 50/2.8 Elmar-M 50/2.8 Elmar 50/3.5 Elmar 90/4 Voigtlander 50mm Have I missed any others? There is the 50mm Summar, and probably a Summarit or two. And there is a collapsible SOM Berthiot Flor lens in LTM. It looks just like an Elmar. Stuart4RF Posted June 10, 2021 Share #63 Posted June 10, 2021 Major reason for the 'collapsible' lens was to fit the inner end bayonet on the Leitz enlarger and also the BEOON Close up copy setup so you didn't have to purchase an enlarging lens or copy lens.
Kwismexer Posted April 25, 2024 Share #64 Posted April 25, 2024 Hi there, I was just wondering if the older Elmar F3.5 was safe to collapse into an M10? Or should I leave the barrel extended? I couldn't find a clear opinion on this topic and just want to be sure that I don't do any damage to the curtain or sensor.
