Looks similar to the modernist Australian High Court building.  Probably built at a similar time I’m guessing.

It was built in 1992, designed by Israeli architects.  It's a little of everything visually -- the Wikipedia quote is:

" It makes rich and wide-ranging references to the whole lexicon of Eretz-Israel building over the centuries, starting with Herodian structures, through the Hellenistic tomb of Absalom, the Crusaders, Greek Orthodox monasteries, and up to the British Mandate period."

Like yours in Canberra, the requirements are pretty simple:  some courtrooms, a nice big law library, and offices for justices and clerks.  The architects' job is to make the interior waiting areas as awesome as possible.

It is newly-opened West Kowloon High-Speed Railway Station in Hong Kong connecting Hong Kong and China, designed by Andrew Bromberg of AEDAS.

Ah, thank you.  I’d seen some drawings and renderings of it when our firm was bidding to design the High-Speed Terminal for the Singapore-Kuala Lumpur line, so I thought it looked vaguely familiar.  The High Speed line project had been postponed now and we did not win the bid anyway 🙂

Thank you David! This hard to identify native happily grows wild beside the road at the bottom of our nearby coastal mountain range.

Sadly, up here on the Monaro, we have no success with grevillea and their ilk due to the adverse climate, they simply turn up their toes.

Copenhagen - Nov 2018Just a question: to compress the picture I have to go thru PowerPoint and "save image" as e-mail format. Is there another (free) way to do this easier? What are you using? Thx for advise. Regards; Filip

We had about 1 1/2 hours of actual sunshine around here today so I strolled around the Michigan State University campus.

Thanks for looking,

Mark B
