Two shots from my home town of Akureyri, North Iceland. The winter has been rather rough on us here but the low light sun and cold nights often blesses us with great photo opportunities such as these. Both shot with M10 and 35mm Summilux FLE.

These really are beautiful.

From someone who is not very much more than a beginner with Leica, and possessing an M240, can anyone tell me if the APO-summicron  is 'too good' for 24mp? I understand that for reasons other than pixel count, the Monochrom delivers everything the ASPH has to offer, but for colour photography can I justify the enormous expense? Would there really be any difference between that or the Summilux 50?

Only you will know if you can "justify the enormance expense", but my feeling would be if you are asking the question don't do it. The Summilux -ASPH is a wonderful lens. Owning both they have very subtle differences, though I would go on to say unless you are going to use it at f1.4, which is very challenging, I would seriously consider the Summarit. You will not be disappointed . However, if you can justify the cost of the APO - Summicron you will know you own the 'best' 50mm lens Leica have made for the M cameras.
