Hope you are still in DC - if so try to sit on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial just before sunrise and watch the sun come up over the Mall - looking towards the U.S. Capitol

I don’t know why I’ve never done that!  That would be such a good view.  Unfortunately I’m about to leave DC and will be back in August.  Hope the sun angle is still favourable then!

Very nice shot! But the fast shutter speed combined with high ISO seems a little unnecessary. Or maybe it was just an oversight?

It was not an oversight but with intent to freeze the smoke as the air flow inside the temple was rapid. I tried from 1/250 up and got very blurred traces till 1/4000. At this point I realized a minor shortcoming of M10 in shutter speed 😊

60th Birthday party for my sister-in-law, with a surprise.  The slightly creepy Park Lion, handing out candy to all the kids, turned out to be her eldest daughter, who lives in another country:

First weekend with camera. M10-P w/ 35mm Summicron @ f/2. Experimenting with PP coming from an m9. Missing that "gritty" m9 look a little bit, but the m10 more than makes up for it in different ways.
