I emailed several Leica VP's and no response from anyone... I feel like I am trying to purchase a Coke from a Pepsi dealer. Makes me wonder if I am really crazy playing this game at these prices.... Rather than spending time and energy emailing complaints, get proactive and aggressive calling around to small dealers... even those not nearby. I was content to wait, but when I heard the price was being bumped $300, I started calling. I found two within 3 days, with one dealer willing to take a trade on my M240. Don't cancel your B&H order. I don't like that as much as it sounds you don't like that, but this is the situation we are in. I placed my name on one other list but the 2-3 week thing has not come through. I was very high on the list. While you are totally correct in stating that there are other (better) ways to tackle the availability problem than sending complaints to Leica via email, we as (long time) forum members could have been nicer to the OP than Leica dealers without a clue or a non responsive manufacturer. I guess the OP is unfamiliar with the Leica ecosystem and Leica's long time habit of screwing up the go to market process for a new product. We could have started first to show some compassion and pointing then the OP in a nice way into the right direction, which is indeed start calling. Maybe I'm to sensitive here and probably you're intentions were 100% right, but your message to a first time poster came in... let's call it rather direct. And indeed the M10 is terrific ... I wonder how much of the movement is related to people removing their name from the list because they had their camera delivered by another dealer? It was an unexpected surprise, since i just placed my order on 4/25 (Thanks for the tip Fake Ralph Gibson). Doug and Joel from Cameraland were great. I would highly recommend buying from them, and they seem to be filling orders very quickly. Thanks FRG! I saw your post last week, and ordered one from CameraLand on the 25th. Got on their waiting list on 3/21 (maybe it was on 3/18?). Pretty quick!
