+ 11776 from about 1981 to i don't know when 🤔

Thanks, LCT, but the 11776 is a second variant of the version I that was adapted for use with the SL2 and R-model cameras, so a change to the flange etc but no change to the optical formula.

There was also a 11777 produced in ROM for the R8 and R9 but it is also a version I with 7 elements in 6 groups.  (The version II is 8 elements in 7 groups.)

Pete.

Erato,

As far as I'm aware, and Erwin Puts Leica Compendium II supports it, there were only 2 versions of the 50/1.4 Summilux-R: v1 (11675 from 1970 to 1998); and v2 (11344 from 1998 to 2008).  Might this be a typo perhaps?

Pete.

Ahhh...miss typo actually...>Ver.II<

Thank you for pointing it out to me.🤩

If you applied this logic about „versions“ and „variants“(which I support) to some „steel rim“ lenses, you‘d cause riots in this forum.
