A quick image made with my 1957 DR 5 cm Summicron attached to my Fuji X-Pro 1 body.  I normally keep this lens on my 1967 M4 but I don't have the opportunity to develop film as often as I once did.  This was taken as much to document the incredible number of robins we currently have visiting our country property.

There has been a long and excellent thread running since January 2010 called "M8 and Old Glass", which contains many beautiful pictures using older lenses on M8's. I've wanted to contribute to the thread for some time since I've been experimenting with older glass but most of my shots now are with my M9-P or M2 and are out of place in that thread, so I decided to start a new thread that's not tied to a particular camera so that we can all benefit from seeing what older lenses can do.

Please add your pictures shot through older lenses to this thread. There's no restriction on the type of lens except that it should not be the current model, no restriction on the camera used (forum rules apple of course so either the lens or the camera or both must be made by Leica), no restriction on content, and it's okay if they've been posted on the forum previously. Please name the camera and lens and post away!

One to get us started.

I've owned this lens and have to say that it was a great one, I never had such flare problem, probbaly your lens need a CLA or re-coating, my was CLA by the great Malcolm Taylor. I can say that it was difficult appreciate the difference with the Summilux 75.

My Carl Zeiss Jena 85/2 Sonnar is just fine thank you* and, funnily enough, it had been CLA'd by Malcolm Taylor as well.  *Different strokes for different folks.

The cows are perplexed as they see no flare in Pete's thread opening picture. Glow, yes. A lot. But no flare.😉

Edit: unlike my Summilux 75/1.4, my CZJ 85/2 likes to glow as well. But then, I'm not good at comparing apples to oranges...

Spetacular lift (approx. 50 meters up) of the two refurished (work took most part of one year) tower roofs of the Cathedral of Lund (originally from 11-12th century). It was done by the largest mobile crane in Scandinavia. Each roof top weighs about 30 tons.
