I don't know about South America(?), Ecar, but in the UK the loco driver is required to sound the horn when he sees anyone within 5 metres of the track. If he sounds the horn you should acknowledge by holding one arm in the air. (Don't hold both arms in the air because that's a universal command to the driver to immediately make an emergency stop to prevent the train from hitting a hazard the driver can't see yet.
