I hope @farnz is fine if I pose the following question to the old glass users in here: the amount of vintage lenses that you all have tested is considerable. Do you have any favourite(s)? I'm not interested in any ranking, but just in the mention of one or a few lenses that, for some reason, you like very much.  Of course, it would be great if you also post an image taken with that beloved lens(es)!

Recently I've been using the 28 Elmarit v2 quite a lot !

Used it for the photo shared here above with TMax 400 and a MP 0,58.

To name one lens ...  🌞😉

This. Because I like its rendering even when focus is way off...🤣

Thank you for asking.  I would prefer that you very kindly start a separate thread for your question because:

  • it's the sort of question that is likely to run and run and would become intertwined with this thread and weaken its focus
  • it's the type of question that can draw robust opinions that lead to discussion and argument, which might divert the thread
  • members who want to know the answer(s) will find it difficult looking through the thousands of posts in this thread.

For the record, my answer is the post-war Carl Zeiss Jena 50/2 Sonnar as below (but is equal with the 50/1 Noctilux v4).

Pete.

Thanks Pete. I fully understand, of course. And nice picture!

Best,
