Why not state that is not the lens sent and ask him for photo showing 'problem' with the lens number in the same shot? 

Disappointing to have this hassle with a sound lens, but maybe the signs were there as you say - good luck.

Yes, obviously the same source as mine (see attached). Can't remember where I found it, though.

A quick lens test, just for the fun (and the bokeh balls...) of it. Taken wide open and handheld at MFD. Speed of 1/12 s resulted in slight camera shake.

M10 + 1964 Meyer-Optik Gorlitz Trioplan 100/2.8 (originally in Exakta mount, converted to M and RF coupled)
