Thanks Hi Ecar, No, it's in M42 mount. I coupled it using a Kood M42 to L/M adaptor and a Leica M-Adaptor T. There is an earlier copy of the lens also in M42 mount but with 17 blades making its way to me from Ukraine (I hope - I've been waiting for a few weeks already). I got the 10-blade just before lockdown so I haven't had the opportunity to use it much yet and the 17-blade must be still being used by someone in the courier company. Ecar Posted July 22, 2020 Share #6173 Posted July 22, 2020 (edited) I do actually have a couple of the 17-blades 58/2 Biotars (one in black and one in silver). Both of them are surprisingly sharp, show vibrant colours and have a pleasant oof transition. I have posted a couple of images taken with the silver one here: https://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/268173-the-view-through-older-glass/page/301/?tab=comments#comment-3993100 However, Pete mentioned a 55/2 Biotar in his post above, which is either a lens I'm not familiar with (hence my original question) or just a typo. Guilty, Ecar, it's a typo so thanks for pointing it out. It's not the first time so my fingers must prefer to type "55" rather than "58" although I've caught myself mentally calling it a "55" so there might be something lurking deeper. <Thinks to self: "Right, where's the phone number for a Lens Psychiatrist ... ?"> Pete.

No worries. Actually, there are a few CZJ lenses in 55mm FL - not sure about a 55/2, though. Oh, and if you come across the Lens Psychiatrist phone nb., please PM me: I really need one too...😵 Edited July 22, 2020 by Ecar

I code these lenses as Summicron M 50mm f/2 ver.iii 6 bit (010111) But my camera is not detecting it.... the adapter I use has 6 code spaces and it's all black, so I only need to use white water base paint. Does anyone knows why it's not detected? Edited July 22, 2020 by jaeger
