Had to use a couple of adapters and extension-rings as our garden isn't that large, distance appr. 45 ft, close focus is at 75 ft; lens shows some vignetting anytimes not only due to the tubes etc.

Pete, @farnz

I wonder if the Contax-Zeiss Planar 45mm f/2.0 converted by Funleader qualifies?
The optical block is the original and other converted lenses are being showcased here but this is more than an "adapter" that has been added.

Hello, Bart.

An interesting question and thank you for asking.

I'm inclined to think that if 'the core' of the lens is from a lens that would otherwise qualify and only the periphery, such as the shell, the mount, and/or the diaphragm etc, have been renewed then I think it does qualify for this thread.  I understand that that's what Skyllaney and Funleader basically do and that's not really any different from a 'Frankenstein' Zeiss 50/1.5 Opton Sonnar lens that Brian Sweeney very kindly and expertly renewed for me using some Jupiter parts many years ago.

I'd rather not turn this into a discussion in this thread but if someone has a strong reason to disagree then please say so giving your reasons here.

Pete.

Interesting comparison. The Topcor seems to be even sharper and contrastier than the Summicron, but then again the light appears to differ somewhat between the two shots (more sun in the Topcor shot), so that will have an influence, too.

Thanks, Pete.

I just have some images to check if the lens functions well.
I'll add other examples when I have something more worthwhile.
