I have posted images taken with these two lenses a while ago, but here’s an almost side-by-side comparison. Just for fun. Both wide open near MFD. Taken within 10 min. of each other.

Extreme rendering #1

M10P ASC + converted 1972 Nikkor-O 55/1.2 (not to be confused with the Nikkor-S Auto 55/1.2, a totally different and much more civilised beast)

Extreme rendering #2

M10P ASC + converted 195X Wollensak Raptar 2”/1.5 (not to be confused with the Raptar 2.04” f/1.5, which is also not as funky)

... and an excellent demonstration to all who assume that lenses are simply a metal or plastic tube with blobs of glass in them that all produce 'the same' picture that it is by no means the case at all. 🙂

(In fairness I must hold my hand up and state that very early on in my photographic journey I was one of those incorrect assumers. :()

Two from the International Coastal Clean-up Day here in the high desert along the shore of the ever receding Great Salt Lake.

Leica M9 with Canon 35/2 LTM, one wide open, one at F11. White balance set to 7500K, because it's the high desert.

Experimenting with my M8 and a Viso II with a chimney finder. I have used it both hand held and on a tripod with a 65 Elmar. I thought I would try it with the M8 and a 400 Telyt. Was just going to photograph the flowers from 50ft away or so. In came a Monarch that gives the photo a subject. Slight crop due to a fence pole on the left.

Just because Heliars seem to be the flavour of the day...

From an obscure little lens that I had almost forgotten. Apparently produced in small numbers (perhaps because it's not particularly sharp?), its most notable feature is a unique and rather ingenious sliding hood mechanism. AFAIK the only Topcor RF lens that uses a Heliar formula, likely copied from Voigtlander’s.

M10M + 1958 Topcor 50/2.8 LTM, wide open

Amazing Bosco Sacro and Parco dei Mostri, a 400-year-old sculpture park in Bomarzo, Italy. The discovery by Salvador Dali and the back story of Vicino Orsini's monumental Mannerist idea is just as magnificent. I loved every second there.

Fully agree. I have been visiting the place a few times over the years. Near Viterbo, about halfway between Rome and Perugia, so access is quite convenient. The village of Bomarzo is also rather charming in itself. Just a warning (especially if you intend to take pictures): avoid week-ends at all costs, or risk being surrounded by swarms of kids - and their extended families...

Since you didn't ask 😁, here are a few more.

Again, M10M + 1957 Canon 35/1.8 LTM @ f/5.6
