finally found some time to play with a 4/400 Sport-Fern-Kilar on M240, shot wide open of course but ISO was still 3200, all heavily croped but I couldn't move nearer due to 8.5 meters close focus

Leica's recent announcements prompted me to feed the Summarex some light.

A provocative, strong diptych, like the opening narrative of a motion picture that I am certain Chris Marker would applaud; he loved cats. See his book Passengers if you haven't already.

Thank you very much.  Was unfamiliar with Marker and the images from Passergers found online are striking.  Criterion (streaming movie app) has six of his videos/movies and look forward to screening tonight.  Much appreciated.

Meyer-Optik Görlitz Orestegor 300/4, M42 mount, on SL, 1/6 sec, f4, iso1600. Approx 17 ft from subject.

I just wanted to see if there was any mileage in trying this beast of a lens (early 1970s) on a tripod for portraiture. It was poor light, but even so I'm not specially encouraged - at 17' away it felt that I was doing it by remote control.
