I find it behaves fairly well at f/8 but wide open it flares like crazy, which I like to have as 'a tool in the box' for particular subjects.

It doesn't tolerate just out of image area strong direct lighting which is what I find causes the worst flare. But it can be used with minimal flare (obviously as above) if used with care - it really need a very precise hood ......

No flare - well done! Difficult with this lens.

According to the shadows and to the central point of this photograph

I would say the sun was not far of being orthogonal to the lens axis,

if it really is so, it helps quite a lot in reducing flare. :)

On your dune photograph, I love the way something that light colored can feel so dense,

not to mention as well the deepness in the blue of the sky…

Great comment - thank you!

It's snow sculpted by the wind, right after a winter storm here in the Salt Lake City foothills. The air is the most clear after storms, and together with the altitude makes for amazing light. This was late morning.

It's funny. How comes I had this feeling that you would ask? 😄

Anyway, I was planning to give it a go as soon as time allows. Of course, I'll post results here.

It is a well known fact you can't have bokeh with a 21mm lens especially

when its widest aperture is f/4. Oh wait …
