Autofocus point in corner after sleep

Do you have rear monitor turned on or does it happen also in EVF-only mode as well (to switch between modes, press the button to the right of viewfinder)?

I have experienced that issue on some other cameras, which was caused by accidentally touching the screen (with the nose?) and thus moving the focal point into the corner.

It never happened to me with the SL, maybe because I am most of the times in EVF-only mode (SL is the only mirrorless where that mode makes sense, since I can still use LCD for menus and review).

yes I was thinking that could be the reason(...touching with the nose most likely). Sadly I did not find a option to disable the touchscreen(...or focus).

I figure out you are right about the EVF only mode works really well, can still review and use menues on the lcd. Impressed.

The M with EVF is a bit crap to review, need to switch. Sony A7r2 was also a bit off the proper use for my taste, don't exactly remember the problem.

Anyway like this it looks like I'm gonna save on battery life...yet to see if the focus point was moved by accidental touch.

Strange it always appears in the very corner. I was also thinking I could have accidentally touched the joystick and it would have moved. Anyway I never had such a problem on a different camera. Hope to figure out to fix it.

actualy als the display setting changes all the time because the BR button is hit easily while the camera is around the neck and touches my body.

The buttons are generaly great, but there should be some option to be protected from this. I know there is a key lock but that seems a bit extreme.

So many posters here seem not to be able to read or search the instruction manual. Search "touch AF" or "touch" and you find logically the section on page 207 of the English manual explaining how to disable touch-controlled autofocus.

I carry the camera slung over my right shoulder, lens facing my body. That way, the lens is reasonably protect behind my thigh, and the lcd doesn't rub against my clothing - might solve your button pressing problem?

yes  I do that too, however not with that tripod socket connection, as I don't trust it. Now with the big SL lens the head will probably be hanging down and touch less easy then with a light M lens.

I will see if I can find a secure way with bottom attachment. there are safety atachements.

I like RRS bottom plate and a dual QD sling strap. Reliable and quick to detach in case I need to store the camera or to mount it on a tripod

What's wrong with the standard attachments?

I gave up on shoulder straps for the SL. I use a wrist leash when shooting (Harry Benz' La Cravate Brogue with a small customization (that he now ships with every one)) and carry the camera in as small a bag as it will fit in. This way it's either in my hand because I'm shooting or it's in the bag because I'm carrying. No mistakenly pressed buttons, no clumsy hanging it by the tripod mount, etc etc.

Small bag: Billingham L2 "Alice" ... just big enough to fit SL + SL24-90, also fits SL with up to three R lenses, like 24/50/90 (that's a little tight, usually just two is better). This is what I use most of the time.

Large bag: Tenba Cooper 13SLR ... can fit way more than I ever want to actually lug around at one time. For instance: SLfitted with SL24-90, Super-Elmar-R 15mm, Elmar-R 180mm f/4, and Telyt-R 250/4. It would easily fit the SL + SL24-90 + SL90-280 + a wide like the Tri-Elmar-M 16-18-21 or maybe the upcoming SL16-35.

If I ever need to carry more than that, I pull out my Pelican rollaway hard case. :-)
