Congratulations Andy.

Wonderful piece of gear. Hope you get tremendous ownership pleasure and wonderful results from it.

:)

BTW, the MP's shutter dial can be adjusted with the finger tip of the digit that's on the shutter release. Can't get much easier than that, can it ? You just need to get used to it. Takes more than an afternoon, but you've got that time ahead of you.

Do the newer serial MPs still have the VF eyepiece that admits dust and lint easily, or is the gap in the 3 screw eyepiece still there? Anybody bought silicone caulk to seal the gap?

I cant decide between MP and m2,3 or 4 coz of this problem...

I suppose this is one of the few places on the planet, where I can tell this story - I just bought a slighty scratched (or should I say pre-brassed ;)) used camera that still uses film. I spent the equivalent of a very decent DSLR for it. It just came back, after the rangefinder has been adjusted under warranty (it helps buy from a good dealer). It runs like a clockwork. :)

Well, it has the 0.58 viewfinder (I wear spectacles and am getting more wide-angleish these days). I also like the black paint (best looking camera on the planet, to my taste).

It is a very good addtition to the 0.72 M6. And then, my dealer used to have several MPs at the same time, now the supply of used ones seems to dry up. Especially with the 0.58 viewfinder. It's a bit like finding a four-leaf clover.

What can one do. :)

Pictures or it didn't …

A pair of MPs, one with 0.58, one with 0.85 is the dream film combo, one would want to shoot in my book ;-)

Why, according to your book, one wouldn't one want to shoot with the hugely flexible, vastly available 0.72 finder?

My two most liked cameras are a 0.85 M7 and a 0.72 M6 (M7 is very quick and easy, while the finder mag is great, the particular M6 is the smoothest M, I have ever used, including several MPs, M3s, M2s, I have tried).

I like how I can use the M7 more comfortable, to shoot 50 and 90mm.

I constantly hit the frame edges of the M6, when using a 28mm.

I would like the 35mm even more with a slightly wider finder, to see more reference.

I mostly use a 50mm on a M8.2 and a 35mm on a 0.72 film M.

A pair of MPs, one with wide and one with 0.85 finder would be the essence, to shoot these two lenses. I won't go out and get them though, as I like, what I have now ;-)

For a one body only, the 0.72 finder is priceless hands down. I agree.

I am a left eye shooter.

I thought, the members following this thread have a rough understanding how an MP looks ;), but here it goes -

Oh no Stefan!

I thought I didn't need a BP one, having a Silver Chrome one already.

But seeing your camera now I'm not so sure. Do you have a shot with the lens hood off (so we can see more of the MP)?

Perhaps just looking at pictures of BP MPs is enough to not buy another camera? Although that didn't help my M2 lust last year.

Why are forum members camera shots so much more interesting than camera shop photos?

Yes it takes me ages to get the strap connectors back on the camera the correct way round, like those wire puzzles only longer to figure out if you don't want any twists in the strap.

Regards, Lincoln

I can take the whole lens off. A more technical view...

Sorry for turning the ruler upside down. I grew up metric ;)
