Is it generally harder to find silver lenses than black ones?

Not for current production lenses, they seem to be in stock readily. But some silver lenses of production are rare and can be harder to find – like the 28 Summilux in silver. The 50 Cron v5 in silver that I bought, it's out of production and there are fewer of them for sale used, but they're still out there. I think I saw three on eBay in silver but an endless number in black. Many of the current silver lenses are anodized silver on aluminum, so finding ones that are silver chrome finish on brass is more appealing to me. I think the current 28 Summaron and 50 Lux in silver are chrome on brass.

You should check if your MP scratches film. If it was produced in Jan 2023, it falls in the category of MP and M6’s with bad batches of pressure plates.

I've developed two rolls of Ilford HP+ last weekend. No scratches and no other problems with new mp. Just perfect negatives. Production date of my mp is 23.01.2023.

MPs have been reported as scratching film since at least 2014 and it would seem that the pressure plate claim emulates from Leica NJ and not Leica Wetzlar.

As I posted earlier, my Jan 23 MP does not scratch film. And I see elsewhere that your 'scratching' MP turned out to be a problem with the lab. What with Jono Slack's M6 that was reported as non-scratching, but now appears to scratch, it is getting difficult to tell the real facts.

We just need forum users to learn to read long threads like this backward. It's a surprisingly-good way to catch up and not be sucked into a problem halfway through the thread that got resolved toward the end.

These cold shoe covers look super nice. They also cover that small hole on top that may allow dust to eventually  make its way into the viewfinder.

I have a few for my silver chrome cameras and the color match is spot on.

...wasn't a fan of cold shoe covers until someone pointed out they reduce the chance of the cold shoe snagging your favourite item of clothing.

Every M model since the M5 has a hot shoe.

Hello Everybody,

And, on the M5, the 3 circuits: Bulb, Blitz & Hot Shoe are wired independently of each other. So that they can be used in any combination of them that a person might like.

Best Regards,

Michael

I will have to flag this for pornographic content... This post gave me goosebumps...

Jokes aside, these are better pictures and more emotional and convincing to get a silver MP than the cold boring ones on the Leica Online Store 😃
I see you have a black paint Voigtlander on there, Mehrdad... Any chance you still have pictures of this combo that are not Macro? I'm wondering how the black paint VMs would look on my silver M7 for quite some time now...
