In an apparent acknowledgement that most of their M customer base are geezers who have become accustomed to a particular style of equipment, Leica have reverted to a yesteryear design for the new M8. It will now have a full 8x10 size sensor that will produce full 1 gig images in RAW capture. This is the first production model which has been fully field tested by 92 year old Hans Krueger, who says everything looks great on the camera monitor but since he doesn't yet own a computer the full test results will be not be available for a few months.

You have scooped everyone! I am rushing out now to pre-order one of those beauties.

I expect this means the camera will also accomodate the new paperback-book sized, 1000Gig memory cards?

I know this guy. His name is Karl Dumkopf. In fact he is only 35 years old but lugging around a Hassy and lenses for 15 years has aged him somewhat..

Is Leica likely to supply a proprietary double-bed throw rug - as shown - for the rear of the camera (with a nice Red Dot pattern perhaps?) or will a standard-sized window drape be compatible with this camera?

And is Billingham likely to bring out a bag big enough to take the M8 plus drape I wonder ... ?
