Advertisement Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 Hi philipotto, Take a look here echivera. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
rob_x2004 Posted June 15, 2007 Share #2 Posted June 15, 2007 Almost abstract. I think hte composition would improve with framing less on the RHS or more on the LHS so that each petal ring is either fully in or fully broken. I like the tones and the gritty finish. The only other thing, I tried really beasting the curves to increase the contrast and depth and extent of the blacks. Different picture. Maybe worht experimenting with. philipotto Posted June 15, 2007 Author Share #3 Posted June 15, 2007 Rob, I agree with you in regards to the framing. It was a quick spur of the moment shot. The only one I took, and I didn't really frame it. The plant belongs to my mother, so I can always have another go. If you wouldn't mind posting what you came up with in this thread, that would be swell. Here is the same file, curves, cross process.

stuny Posted June 15, 2007 Share #5 Posted June 15, 2007 Philip - You really are not spending enough time here. More please. In the B&W it takes on the quality of a rose with rolled petals to seem as moisture laden as a succulent. Really quite lovely. As Rob states, I too wondered about the same image a bit lighter and with a bit more contrast.
