In the past I bought DMR, M8, M8.2, M9, M240, Monochrom, Monochrom; I've installed and learned tons of sw versions like C1, LR, ACR, SEP, PS. Now, I don't want to spend any more time and money following the market; I've always used film, too; and I actually use 99,9% film together with my beloved M and R cameras and so, reading this novelty, I've just placed an order for an M7 à la carte. Can't wait!!!

Messed up in detriment to Leica. These blogs will refer to 4 year old tech. Is there a rational explanation for why we have no road map for cameras or lenses? It surely isn't all about bamboozling the customer is it?

Once you've learned how to use it it's an amazingly fast tool - particularly with lenses between 21 and 35. There's no AF hunt, no problem with locking metering. All you have to do in most situations is to focus, frame and shoot. Metering is something that you've sorted out for the scene anyway. If you have to add the metering step, its still quicker for me to shoot fast changing scenes with an M than it is with a 5D3 with wide to medium FL lenses.

.

+1

In dynamic social situations I'm far quicker with the M than with the Canon 1DX. When I want to shoot the 1DX extra fast I shoot it in my "M-style": prefocused and stopped down. :-)

Will it have external EVF?

Apparently the one from the TL; based on what information, heaven only knows.

Interesting that the Leica Rumours site says the camera will have the same sensor as the Q and the SL - I understood they were sourced from differrent suppliers and they are different.

If the Leica Rumours site is correct, improved viewfinder, rationalised user interface, better ISO sensitovity and WiFi would surely be attractive to many. Interesting they've stuck to their guns on 24MP - I would love to hear the technical explanation from Leica. I expect it is based on careful consideration and research, rather than blind dogma.

WiFi suggests that a version of the SL App would be available - great to use, but really only with a tripod ...

Still unclear where this "M10" fits.

Do you think there is any chance of an improved EVF for the existing M240? As a future hardware add on, rather than the existing EV-2?

I'm reasonably happy with my M-P's EVF...just wondering really...but I suppose that will be a draw with a new M10?

Any thoughts?
