sarav Posted December 9, 2016 Share #301 Posted December 9, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) In the past I bought DMR, M8, M8.2, M9, M240, Monochrom, Monochrom; I've installed and learned tons of sw versions like C1, LR, ACR, SEP, PS. Now, I don't want to spend any more time and money following the market; I've always used film, too; and I actually use 99,9% film together with my beloved M and R cameras and so, reading this novelty, I've just placed an order for an M7 à la carte. Can't wait!!!

Mike Rawcs Posted December 9, 2016 Share #302 Posted December 9, 2016 I've just placed an order for an M7 à la carte. Can't wait!!! Enjoy! I'll be checking out the new M10, but if it doesn't meet my needs I'll be joining you over on the 'I like film' thread!
Exodies Posted December 9, 2016 Share #303 Posted December 9, 2016 Messed up in detriment to Leica. These blogs will refer to 4 year old tech. Is there a rational explanation for why we have no road map for cameras or lenses? It surely isn't all about bamboozling the customer is it? Peter Kilmister Posted December 9, 2016 Share #305 Posted December 9, 2016 OK, @FrrozenInTime, I'll comment ... after the event. Nobody knows if it is an announcement yet. Even if it is an announcement nobody knows what is being announced. I'm off to bed for another 5 weeks.

dent Posted December 10, 2016 Share #308 Posted December 10, 2016 Once you've learned how to use it it's an amazingly fast tool - particularly with lenses between 21 and 35. There's no AF hunt, no problem with locking metering. All you have to do in most situations is to focus, frame and shoot. Metering is something that you've sorted out for the scene anyway. If you have to add the metering step, its still quicker for me to shoot fast changing scenes with an M than it is with a 5D3 with wide to medium FL lenses. . +1 In dynamic social situations I'm far quicker with the M than with the Canon 1DX. When I want to shoot the 1DX extra fast I shoot it in my "M-style": prefocused and stopped down. :-) www.mindfulphotography.smugmug.com
colint544 Posted December 15, 2016 Share #309 Posted December 15, 2016 Leica Rumours reporting only three buttons on the back of the new M10, no video provision, and the body to be the same size as that of the M7 - http://leicarumors.com/2016/12/15/more-leica-m10-specifications-and-rumors-no-video-only-three-buttons-on-the-back-m7-size.aspx/
Wayne Posted December 15, 2016 Share #310 Posted December 15, 2016 A body the same size as the M7 would be fantastic. Imagine if they were able to cover the LCD with a door, similar to the film door associated with later film Ms. I do not know if I would be able to resist. jmahto Posted December 15, 2016 Share #311 Posted December 15, 2016 Will it have external EVF?
IkarusJohn Posted December 15, 2016 Share #312 Posted December 15, 2016 Will it have external EVF?Apparently the one from the TL; based on what information, heaven only knows. Interesting that the Leica Rumours site says the camera will have the same sensor as the Q and the SL - I understood they were sourced from differrent suppliers and they are different. lct Posted December 15, 2016 Share #313 Posted December 15, 2016 Just the current Visoflex for T and X cameras i suspect.
IkarusJohn Posted December 16, 2016 Share #314 Posted December 16, 2016 If the Leica Rumours site is correct, improved viewfinder, rationalised user interface, better ISO sensitovity and WiFi would surely be attractive to many. Interesting they've stuck to their guns on 24MP - I would love to hear the technical explanation from Leica. I expect it is based on careful consideration and research, rather than blind dogma. WiFi suggests that a version of the SL App would be available - great to use, but really only with a tripod ... Still unclear where this "M10" fits. Tailwagger Posted December 16, 2016 Share #315 Posted December 16, 2016 Screw it. Im buying more glass and cementing my New Years resolution a little early. I resolve to go as deep into 2017 as I possibly can shooting wth the 240, all the while reading everyone else's reviews, gripes and plaudits with interest. ramarren Posted December 16, 2016 Share #316 Posted December 16, 2016 I will be continuing with the M-D typ 262 for a long time to come, I suspect. Can't wait to see what Leica is announcing anyway.
otto.f Posted December 16, 2016 Share #317 Posted December 16, 2016 Very curious if this MAESTRO II has overwon the yellow cast of the M240 images and whether it's price is around 4300€
david strachan Posted December 16, 2016 Share #318 Posted December 16, 2016 Do you think there is any chance of an improved EVF for the existing M240? As a future hardware add on, rather than the existing EV-2? I'm reasonably happy with my M-P's EVF...just wondering really...but I suppose that will be a draw with a new M10? Any thoughts? ... Joakim Posted December 16, 2016 Share #319 Posted December 16, 2016 I don't think there will ever be a new EVF for the current M models.
lct Posted December 16, 2016 Share #320 Posted December 16, 2016 An updated EVF would be useless i'm afraid as current M bodies could not feed it at more than 30 fps.
