otto.f Posted November 8, 2016 Share #64 Â Posted November 8, 2016 I'm still trying to understand what "character" is. ... Â OOF, glow, pop, flare, contrast, acuity, sharpness, edge drop-off, good-bad bokeh (?)...is one or all...character? Or is it how it "the glass draws" whatever that means?? .. Says a man who has almost has no other lenses than character lenses on his shelf...

Julian H Posted November 13, 2016 Share #68 Â Posted November 13, 2016 I like lenses with character so I have a Zeiss C-Sonnar f1.5 50, 35 'lux v1 and recently have acquired a Voigtlander 35 f1.2. I am very much looking forwards to my next photo adventure [Venice] with f1.2Â Â . Next up will probably be a 50 'lux [pre -Asph].
Keith (M) Posted November 13, 2016 Share #69 Â Posted November 13, 2016 I just finished a roll of Portra 160 in my M7 where I changed mid-roll from C-Sonnar 50mm to LTM Summicron 5cm Collapsible. Â Will be interesting to see what that change brings result-wise. Â Will be a while as I will send it to Canada Film Lab...
