Teamwork are probably your best bet in UK. They may have to order it.https://www.teamworkphoto.com/heliopan/

Mine is a Rodenstock 34mm UV Blocking Filter #1095-2 00-003-40 so you could try searching for that.

I don't use it as the first element is so inset.

Thanks Pedaes, I'll check them out. I live by the coast so .. it's windy, sandy, salty etc.

I have done portraits ,nightscapes ,from the hip shots.against the light pictures and  more and through all this the summaron has been outstanding.

How good were leica in 1955? to produce a lens this good?

Just to confirm i have bought the modern remake of the summaron and i love it.

The optical cell can be the same between the old 2.8cm LTM and the new 28mm M.

I'm certain that the coating of the lenses is different, more or less maybe also the choice of those glasses.

I don't see the lovely "rendering" (very gentle in general of the old LTM with some controlled flare) since I use the Summaron-M for some years now.

So now, I want the old LTM 5.6/2.8cm again 😌.

from the 2.8cm LTM, this is "gentle Black" and "gentle White" (or maybe the M8 sensor had done magic ? )

Slightly off topic but can anyone recommend a supplier of a Heliopan UV filter for this lens? My google search has found Fotoimpex in Berlin: any advice?

Many thanks in advance.

I bought an orange 22 filter from them for mine. It took a while but other than that all was ok.

Thanks for the reply, Ian. I would really like to try this lens, and have since it was introduced, but the problem of not being able to see the 28mm framelines when wearing spectacles has always stopped me purchasing it. Why Leica doesn't address this problem is beyond me.

There is a little latitude with the M10 finder - the framelines aren't right on the edge of the viewfinder. How about a 28mm finder if seeing the framelines clearly is important?

Thanks Pedaes, I am considering a finder, either that or a correction lens.

Same image processed twice,  •  ISO 100  •  f 6.8  • 1/500 sec.  •  first in black and white, then in color.
The new upgrade for the M10-P to display the perspectives is very much appreciated here.
