Advertisement Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 Hi drstefanlenz, Take a look here noctilux order takes 4 months. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
marknorton Posted June 12, 2007 Share #2 Posted June 12, 2007 I expect demand for the Nocti will drop to zero in about 18 days time...
Bill W Posted June 12, 2007 Share #3 Posted June 12, 2007 I ordered mine about three months ago. I look several times a week at my on-line banking to see if they have charged my credit card. That is the only indication that you are about to have it delivered.
sandymc Posted June 12, 2007 Share #4 Posted June 12, 2007 Mine's been on order since early March. Spoke to the retailer yesterday, and they say that Leica has missed the last three promised shipments.....and they have no idea when delivery will occur. I, for one, am not happy about this - given the level of support that Leica has received from its client base through the M8 issues, it is, as the British would say, a really poor show. Eoin Posted June 12, 2007 Share #5 Posted June 12, 2007 I ordered mine 16th march due for delivery 14th may queried Leica on 21st may asking for a revised delivery date and was told about another 4 weeks which brings it to about the 18th june. By the tone of the email they are working against a huge backlog and seem to have no definitive dates to give. I'm not holding my breath in anticipation for next week but we'll see. Others who ordered recently have been quoted 5-6 months so obviously there is either large demand or they are waiting for the glass to cool down after smelting. rsh Posted June 12, 2007 Share #6 Posted June 12, 2007 Mark: Why do you say demand should drop to Zero in about 18 days time? Could it be that it may be discontinued?
robsteve Posted June 12, 2007 Share #7 Posted June 12, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Others who ordered recently have been quoted 5-6 months so obviously there is either large demand or they are waiting for the glass to cool down after smelting. I read the special glass used in the Noctilux takes 18months to cool. It could be a long wait if they don't have a source for the glass
marknorton Posted June 12, 2007 Share #8 Posted June 12, 2007 Richard, that's when the 30% discount scheme comes to an end for early M8 adopters which was especially good value as it was computed on the pre-increase price. I expect a number of people with a Nocti on order will be buying it through this scheme. After that, everyone pays the post-increase price which is roughly 50% up on this time last year. rsh Posted June 12, 2007 Share #9 Posted June 12, 2007 Mark: I am Brain Dead today. Of Course you are right. The Noctilux Price is not an Issue with me as I have had on for a good long time.
4season Posted June 12, 2007 Share #10 Posted June 12, 2007 4 months? Fine, by that time, I may actually have the $2795 saved up. Maybe.
Bill W Posted June 12, 2007 Share #11 Posted June 12, 2007 I wish I had ordered the 35 lux which I plan on getting anyway. At least I would have had the darn thing by now probably.

carstenw Posted June 12, 2007 Share #13 Posted June 12, 2007 Leica is planning to continue producing the Noctilux, at least for now. Otherwise, there would not be much point in the price raise, which was to absorb the increased cost of one of the glass types used in the manufacture of the Noctilux. The lens which disappeared was the 75 Lux (and now the Tri-Elmar).
gesper Posted June 13, 2007 Share #14 Posted June 13, 2007 Ordered mine three months ago. Sent email to Germany yesterday asking when they will be shipping and they replied they have no idea.
jlm Posted June 13, 2007 Share #15 Posted June 13, 2007 sounds pretty normal; my WATE has been on order since February, that is five months and still no word.
tjv Posted June 13, 2007 Share #16 Posted June 13, 2007 I've been waiting since late Feb... Don't expect it any time soon either. If I don't have it by the end of this month I'll be in a bit of a pickle. I'd love the lens but I would also love a Mamiya 7II, which is considerably cheaper... I ditched the M8 long ago. Maybe, just maybe, I'll get another if they've fixed the banding from edge of frame light sources by then...
drstefanlenz Posted June 13, 2007 Author Share #17 Posted June 13, 2007 IMaybe, just maybe, I'll get another if they've fixed the banding from edge of frame light sources by then... well, sounds kinda bad, so lets try to be patient. banding? i did 4000 pics so far, no problems regards stefan

Bill W Posted June 13, 2007 Share #19 Posted June 13, 2007 I thought that any banding was an early problem and fixed with the recall and firmware updates.
Enoteca Posted June 16, 2007 Share #20 Posted June 16, 2007 Don't be so unpatiently. Even Rome was not destroyed on one day. Good thing to do, will take it's time. I ordered my Nocti in December 2006 and received it yesterday. Am happy now, but was able to live without it before.
