StS Posted April 3, 2017 Share #301 Posted April 3, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) As a side note at least for those in southern Victoria, we have an excellent starry night tonight. Being not very famililar with the sky in the southern hemisphere, I found the southern cross to be extremely helpful. Jupiter is very clear, as well as Sirius. Advertisement Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 Hi StS, Take a look here AUSTRALASIAN ONE CHALLENGE - Advance Notice. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
christoph_d Posted April 3, 2017 Share #302 Posted April 3, 2017 Stefan, Our experience, in contrary to yours, is quite different. The view of the sky, be it night time or day time seems mostly be dominated by the inside view of an umbrella.... Rgds C.
hoppyman Posted April 4, 2017 Share #303 Posted April 4, 2017 Gaah exactly this hour I have found out that my S body has returned from Wetzlar. I plan on going to pick it up before the challenge and return the loan camera. Now I am contemplating taking a lens and shooting with that camera instead. I hardly remember how to use my M! I just checked my Lightroom and I literally haven't shot a frame with it for 18 months. How embarrassing.

As an upside, who else can claim to have seen Australia in rain? Also, the light is much softer. Stefan

StS Posted April 5, 2017 Share #311 Posted April 5, 2017 I would be interested as well to join the tour tomorrow. Which would be the time and meeting point? Since it is probably on the way anyhow, I would like to pick up a lab order from Michael's, which should be ready tomorrow at noon. Stefan

If it takes one minute from the Travelodge lobby, we will be walking slow. Stefan That's it Stefan. We are meeting in the Lobby at 6:00pm. Otherwise turn left outside the doors, and amble down. There's food besides beer...and the weather will be nice to sit out on the (footpath, sidewalk, pavement) outdoor setting... Anyone else is welcome, of course, too. The more the better; I think Pete and Geoff will be there. Up at a sparrow's to catch a flight to Melb. Look forward to meeting some other Leica friends. all best... erl Posted April 5, 2017 Author Share #319 Posted April 5, 2017 Informal opportunity for tomorrow (Thur). If anyone is interested, I will be under the clocks @ Flinders Street railway Station @ about 10am. I am happy to lead you astray around the CBD to such places as Hosier lane (super graffiti), Degraves St lanes, Michael's camera Store Museum, The Old Shot Tower (inside Melb.Central), The Victoria State Library and dome. Then maybe to China Town for lunch of dumplings or whatever. I will need to depart to meet my surgeon (post op) by 1pm'ish, but by then you all should have a feel of how to fly by yourselves. My Mob. # is +61(4)double one, double 65, 285. obviously rewrite it in all numerals. This is to prevent robots pestering me. A WhatsApp group has been formed so we can all track our movements jointly. If you wish to join it, text your number to me and I will facilitates you to be included. If you have any issues with locating "Under The Clocks", call me for better directions. Off to bed now. Had a big day. Ciou.
